Frequently Asked Questions
ANSWERS TO YOUR
Do you have an office?
We are exclusively a virtual practice. We use Theranest for HIPPA-compliant telehealth services.
How does Intentional Therapy ensure that therapy feels personal and tailored to me?
We prioritize quality over quantity. Our clinicians maintain a small caseload, usually between 25 to 30 clients, to ensure each session is deeply personalized.
This allows our therapists to develop a genuine, ongoing relationship with each client, where you feel truly understood, remembered, and supported.
We believe that maintaining a smaller client load helps us focus on what matters most: your unique journey and mental well-being.
How long are the sessions?
Sessions are typically 53 minutes in length. Couples, family, or initial intake appointments may be 75 minutes.
How often do we meet?
Typically, sessions occur once per week. You and your therapist may decide to increase or decrease the frequency of visits depending on progress and need.
What if I’m running late for my appointment?
Your appointment time is reserved for you. We have a 15-minute grace period. After 15 minutes, you will be charged a late cancellation fee.
Do you take insurance?
At this time, our fully licensed therapists do take the following insurances: BCBS, Oscar, Oxford, United Health, Aetna, and Cigna.
What is Thrizer?
We have partnered with Thrizer to handle the out-of-network process automatically for you. With Thrizer, you will only have to pay a copay for our sessions, instead of paying our full fee and waiting for reimbursements.
This typically allows clients to save on average 70% upfront on our sessions. During our intake process, we can help you verify if you have out-of-network benefits and how much your co-pay/co-insurance would be.
*If you have a Blue Cross Blue Shield Plan, you will have to pay my full fee and will receive a paper check reimbursement in a few weeks.
Which states do you practice in?
At this time, we are exclusively practicing in the state of Texas.
How long will I be in treatment?
The length of treatment depends on the presenting issue and the goals of treatment. Brief treatment might be as short as three to five sessions while longer term therapy might last several years.
You and your therapist will collaborate to determine the length of treatment that is both clinically appropriate and best meets your needs.
What should I expect at our first meeting(s)?
Your first few meetings will allow you and your therapist to get to know each other and decide if you are a good fit.
You may be asked some questions about your background and goals for therapy. You will also have the opportunity to learn more about the therapy process, as well as discuss a treatment plan.
If for some reason you and your psychologist are not the right fit, you will be provided with trusted referrals.
What is an LPC Associate?
An LPC Associate is a Licensed Professional Counselor who has completed their graduate training and is working under supervision to gain the necessary experience before becoming fully licensed as an LPC.
I am 18 years or older. Will my parents find out if I start therapy?
Your privacy matters to us, and we’re here to help you navigate the process. If you’re concerned about confidentiality, there are ways to keep your therapy private. Here’s how:
Out-of-Pocket Payment: By choosing to pay for your sessions directly, you can ensure a higher level of privacy. This means your therapy won’t show up on insurance statements, keeping your journey just for you.
If you prefer using insurance and receiving a superbill, it’s important to know that therapy-related charges might appear on billing statements, which could be visible to your parents or guardians if they’re the policyholders.

You will be charged $75 if you do not cancel at least 24 hours in advance of your appointment time.
Do you submit or provide superbills?
