Are You Struggling with the Emotional and Mental Challenges of Immigration or Being Undocumented?

Immigration/Undocumented Status Counseling in Texas

You face immense pressure and uncertainty daily.

Navigating life in a new country, dealing with cultural shock, or living in constant fear of deportation can take a heavy toll on your mental health.

The stress of maintaining your legal status, taking care of your family both here and back home, and integrating into a culture that often doesn’t fully understand your experience can leave you feeling anxious, isolated, and powerless.

DO THESE THOUGHTS FEEL FAMILIAR TO YOU?

  • "I live in fear that any mistake could jeopardize everything."

  • "No one understands the pressure I feel to succeed and send money back to my family."

  • "I feel lost between two worlds—I'm not fully accepted here or back home."

  • "I can’t talk about my status or struggles without fear of judgment or legal consequences."

  • "I constantly worry about my future and my family's future here."

IMAGINE FEELING RELIEF FROM:

  • Constant fear and anxiety about your legal status.

  • The pressure to succeed for both yourself and your family.

  • Cultural disconnection and the feeling of being an outsider.

  • The emotional and mental toll, and the stress of navigating the immigration system.

  • Feeling disconnected from both your home culture and your current environment.

Our Team

At Intentional Therapy PLLC, we specialize in providing culturally-attuned, non-traditional therapy for BIPOC individuals, particularly those from South and East Asian backgrounds. Founded in March 2021 by Parthi B. Patel, a first-generation South Asian American, our practice understands the unique challenges faced by first- and second-generation individuals, such as bi-cultural identity struggles and intergenerational trauma.

We’ve created a space where you don’t have to explain your culture—our therapists ‘just get it,’ because we’ve lived it.

We have since expanded our practice to include other mental health professionals. Each of our therapists has unique areas of specialization and expertise, allowing us to collaborate and provide a range of care to individuals, couples, families, and organizations.”
